how to obtain tablename,sid from systables

hi, i'm wondering if there is an easier way of obtaining a user's session id, and the tables he/she is accessing from the systables? what i'm doing right now is join syssessions, and syssqlstat, and direct the output of the sql statement and grep for 'from' to get the tablename. thanks, hk
