Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

We changed the name of our server by editing the onconfig file and changing
the user informix env var INFORMIXSERVER.
Everything works just fine.
'onstat -g env' still reports the old name for INFORMIXSERVER. As a matter
of curiosity, I'm wondering where "onstat" gets the value it reports?

The value of INFORMIXSERVER when you started the server.
If you've not restarted the server, the value of $INFORMIXSERVER hasn't
changed (yet) - but it sounds like it will when you restart.
