Karen: I-NET is a pain in the butt to configure. Everything has to be perfect for it to work, and there's a lot to get just right. First make sure TCP/IP is set up correctly. You need to be able to ping from the client to the server by name, and from the server to the client by name. Then make sure that your client SERVICES file has an entry for the port you're communicating over. It'll probably be '1524/tcp' since you're using Informix 5. Then you've got to make sure SetNet is setup properly and that your SQL Hosts file has an entry for your server. These are more obscure. I'm using Windows NT, so I don't know what to do under Win 3.11. (Are people really still using 16-bit Windows?) If you have some more specific questions, contact me at work on Friday. I'll be out of the country Monday and Tuesday.
