Well, wouldn't the IWUG reach a far smaller number of people? I couldn't attend the conference, but would've loved to have gone. The point is, I could attend an IRC chat session as a lurker or interactive participant, and actually DO something rather than discuss the etherial new newsgroup, which takes forever to get set up. Most folks should be able to download FREE IRC software, and participate AS SOON AS EVERYONE AGREES on when and where. The newsgroup may NEVER get off the ground. >We might have to consider that. The IRC server has to be accessable by the widest possible audience, so some research may be in order. It may have to be an event that takes into account time zone limitations as well, maybe one for the Western Hemispere and one for the Eastern Hemispere, or just make a big pot of coffee, stay up late, and participate. A Friday or Saturday night event--yes, get a life, this is prime weekend time, but it might be worthwhile. >instead of seeing all those posts that say AYE but no >one to keep count, and all the discussions about how the procedure to set up >NewsGroup which shouldn't be here at all.
