Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

How are you connecting to the Internet?
Can your client ping the database server when you are connected to the
internet?
It is possible than the way you connect to the internet causes you to loose
connectivity to your server
Or if both your client and server are on the same machine,
your ip address might have been changed because of dial up.
Not having worked with nt sockets much I am not sure how
previously existing sockets behave once you dial up to the internet.
You might try not bringing the database server up till the connection
to the internet has been established. (I am assuming in this case the
database server is on the machine which is connecting to the internet
