I didn't see the start of this thread, so hopefully I'm not repeating... What version of 4GL are you using? If pre-6.0, then the SQL relay module (sqlrm) is involved, and there IS a bug on some platforms that causes sqlrm to east lots of CPU time when using a shared memory connection. If sqlrm is NOT involved, I'd like to hear more about the situation! I work on HP machines with Informix very frequently. HTH, Irwin Goldstein Objective Software Systems, Inc.
