There were two major versions of these tests, and the first one did suffer from some of these problems. In recognition of that Informix made profound changes to the certification process, and since July of 1996 has been using the new exam format. The Informix certification program has been extensively reviewed by professional examination builders, by Informix trainers and also consultants, and by the people who have provided constructive feedback to the program. This review process has yielded what I believe is an excellent certification program. While there are many valid criticisms of any form of certification (some of which have been debated already in this forum) I don't feel that yours are still appropriate. The Informix Certified Professional program does meet its goals. It provides a tool for your management to recognize your effort, it can give you a sense of accomplishment personally, and it provides a measure of professional recognition among the Informix community. ______________________________________________________ Clem Akins (aka clema@informix.com) Informix Software, Inc (Standard disclaimers apply) International Technical Support Last seen: Motorcyclin' in the glorious California sunshine
