dual prosesor

If we are going to use dua prosesor for our HP K420 running HP 10.10 and IDS 7.12, is there any onconfig parameter we have to set ? is there necessary improvement for the application (built using Informix 4GL 6) ? TIA, --garnadi

You have to set MULTIPROCESSOR to 1, this enables certain code that protects memory structures from simultaneous access by processes running on different CPUs. If you want the engine to use an additional CPU VP (and 2 CPU VPs on only 2 CPUS MAY not gain you much performance, though with HP processors faster than 400MHZ some have reported gains from as many CPU VPs as 2 x # CPUs). This is set with: NUMCPUVPS 2. Also you may have SINGLE_CPU_VP set to 1, you will have to set that to zero if you set NUMCPUVPS to 2 or higher. Art S.
