Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Are you not able to pass the command
through as a passthrough query from
Access? We have used set statements in
this way with queries tied together in
macros.

Am running Informix 7.1 with a report
serving database that contains several
synonyms to live data. I often
experience record locking on the
synonymed tables, which bombs the ODBC
user. We are currently using Microsoft
Access and R&R Report Writer to gain
data from
Informix. Neither of these two
products recognize the command:
set isolation to dirty read;
...so I can't pass it to the database
to get around the locked records. Does
anyone know of a reporting tool that
can perform a dirty read? Or can you
tell me how to setup Informix so that
always treats the ODBC clients as dirty
read?
Thanks in advance for any help you can
give....
