Replication is probably a waste of time to do what you want. My point was that developers and users have very different needs and put different loads on a database....that's why the production and development environments need to be separate. Developers are loose cannons. They will lock up you systems, use up all your resources, bring your system to its knees. It's part of their jobs....they do it and hopefully fix their code to prevent users from doing the same thing. A development machine is rarely configured exactly the same as a production machine, usually for cost reasons. If you can manage to couch the requirements for a development machine in terms of both development/production and disaster recovery/fault-tolerance you are more likely to have an identical machine available. Don't get too hung up on them being identical. Once you get the feel for how much data you have and how it is distributed, altering your schema from devel to prod is no big thing. : *runs off to chase tail* Just shows you the importance of one simple adjective. Funny how "chase tail" differs from "chase his tail".....;) You have political ambitions, Jon?
