informix mirroring

i am having a problem with disk i/o - i am currently utilizing an ibm ssa with 8 disk (4x4) with informix mirroring when i run an iostat (aix) it shows my hardest hit drives are the ones that are mirrored. i have hardly any hits on the regular disks - i have also split my data across the disks by splitting off the tables with the most reads/write onto their own disks. please help my performance it going down the toilet -- Robert H Higgins
