jdbc connection error

Hi I need some help I'm using IDS12.10FC4 and I'm testing connect to informix using jdbc but I get this message com.informix.asf.IfxASFException code-set conversion function failed due to illegal sequence or invalid value and locale value is en_US.819 why i get this message? please help

One of the possible causes for that is a very nasty situation... and a bit long to explain... Before I get into small details or history context: What is your database locale (select * from sysmaster:sysdbslocale)? What is your JDBC connection DB_LOCALE? What is your JDBC connection CLIENT_LOCALE? I'd assume your DB_LOCALE != CLIENT_LOCALE... this forces codeset conversion. And eventually you have a codepoint (character) in your database that formally doesn't exist in your database locale. So the needed conversion fails.... this may have been caused by historic issues... (the details I mention above). Regards. at first thank your answer database locale, JDBC connection locale are en_US.819 when I use jdbc driver 4.16 version, error is occure but I use jdbc driver 3.xx version is successful IDS version is 12.10 what kind of problem??
