Hello. I have a Windows 2000 with a Sql Server 2000 on it. I have some DTSs that transferred data from Sql Server to Informix. I use transactions. Now, I have migrated my server to a new Windows 2003 server, and my transactions don't work. It says that: Step Error Source: Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS) Package Step Error Description:Unable to enlist in the transaction. (Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS) Package (8004d00a): Connection 'INFORMIX 3.32 32 BIT' for Task 'DTSTask_DTSExecuteSQLTask_1' does not support joining distributed transactions or failed when attempting to join. Unable to enlist in the transaction. ) ( (8004d00a): ) Step Error code: 8004D00A I have searched a lot through Internet, and I have read that I have to enable Network DTC Access in Windows 2003 server, as I did. I can't initiate Distributed Transactions between this computer and another one running Sql Server, but not Informix. So it's not a problem of Sql Server, but a problem of Informix (or the Informix ODBC Driver). Any help?
What version of the Informix CSDK or Connect are you using? It seems that you are using an old one based on the version of your ODBC driver. My first guess is that the Informix client that you are using is not the latest and thus does not work properly on Windows 2003 Server. You should look into upgrading the client if at all possible, 2.90 is the latest. You say that you migrated to a new server which says to me "fresh install", is this a correct assumption? If not you may want to remove your exising Informix ODBC connections and uninstall/reinstall the Informix client. On this note if you upgrade your client you should remove the ODBC connections, uninstall the existing client and then install the new client, IN THAT ORDER. From my experience Informix clients to not upgrade well and the ODBC driver must exist in order to remove the ODBC connections. If you remove the client first, which would remove the ODBC driver, then the ODBC connections will not remove and you'll have to hack the registry in order to remove them.
