Depends on the massaging. SPL has truly vile string manipulation
"capabilities" and is revolting on things like record definition. SPs also
cannot process dynamic SQL, it all has to be precompiled. But if you can
live with all those warts, it should run a lot faster than dbaccess from a
shell.
