Linux/Informix Device Driver Help Please

We have created a CPIO disk for Interactive Unix to read into Linux. The device used was /dev/rdsk/fd0q18dt fd0H1440 does not read track 0 and not sure if it is a raw device. Extracts zero files. anyone have a suggestion as to what device to use? Thank you for your help. Wendy
