Screen array cursor redefinition?

Please help! I've want to do a screen array in 4gl which has the seperate columns going down, instead of across. I've done the screen, but when I go to put data in, the direction keys still think the columns go across. For example using the left arrow makes the cursor go up, right arrow cursor goes down, up makes it go left and right it does down. This would make sense if the columns went across, but they don't. I wondered if there was a way to redefine the direction keys, maybe using options. Or possibly code around it. Please help!
