Re: Performance problem after merging db server

Hi, at first I want to thank all who replied. I hope that I can try your suggestions very soon and I will keep you informed - above all if it doesn't works! :-) Now I wanted to add some more information for you to keep in mind while making your suggestions: * on the system not only 30-50 db users are working but also about 30 users working with legacy systems (file i/o) * in the db system we are only using raw devices * the 3 (application) + 2 (rootdbs, temp) dbspaces are spread over 3 hard disks (mirrored by Informix on additional 3 harddisks) * we have 5 databases (of course not in the rootdbs!) managed by this instance * we have about 98% of reads cached (I think our client can be confi- dent with this value.) * database/table statistics are updated every night by a cron job * normally (not peak time, but regular working time: 11:30 am) 8 MB of 512 MB RAM are free and 100 MB of 500 MB swap are used; the load va- lues are: 1.4+, 1.0+, 0.7+ If you need any further information I should provide, please drop a line. Thanks again for your help!
