NEW ERA - C LINK

We are using New Era 2.11 , I wrote a function in C and I want to call that function from new era. I am passing 2 character variables to the function. Problem is I am not able to use the passed variables in C function. Ia m using Popquote() function of new era, At run time my code is crashingg when it reaches the point where I am taking data from stacj using Popqoute If somebody helps me on this it will be very helpful.
