ASCII data dump

Greetings, I know absolutly nothing about Informix but I was asked a question this morning about it. A client has a Unix platform running some old version of Informix. They turn the system on about once a year to generate a mailing list. They would like to get rid of the Unix machine since they rarely use it, but they want to transfer the mailing information to some PC database software first. Not knowing any of the specifics or anything about Informix, I suggested they check the docs for something that will dump the data into some sort of ASCII file (report form, comma delimited, whatever) then write a short application to reformat it into something that can be read by their new software. Is this the easiest way to go? If so, is it easy to dump the data to an ASCII file? This all seems pretty fundamental but thought I should ask to be sure. Thanks, Mike -- CHANG,MICHAEL E.
