View and Table Owners

Help! How can you change the owner of a view?
We are using third party report writers (such as ViewPoint or IQ) to
allow our clients to generate their own reports from their Informix
SQL databases. In some circumstances, like data warehousing, the
users can create their own tables and views, and the owners of these
are the userids that created them.
When a table or view is referred to in the report writers, the owner
becomes an integral part of the table name. Should the owner change
(eg, the table was regenerated or altered by another user), the report
writer can no longer find the table or view (error 206).
We have found an easy way around this problem that works great for
tables, by simply changing the owner in systables:
UPDATE systables SET owner="oldowner" WHERE tabname="abc"
Unfortunately, this does not work (or at least, is not sufficient) for
views. Even when the old owner is restored in systables, the view
still cannot be found. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
in advance,
