(We print mainly to HP Laserjets series II or greater.) I don't know what your String_1 looks like, but the way we do it is as follows: print column 11, "Such and such ", print ASCII 27, "(S3b", { Bold on } print column 41, "on and on.", print ASCII 27, "(S0b" { Bold off } These escape sequinces may or may not coorespond to actual sequences, but proceding in this fashion has worked for us. I would hazzard a guess that Informix looses count of the number of columns when the font is manipulated, thus that would account for it working is this senerio using 4 print statements instead of just 1. Could someone else confirm or disprove this? Of course it could always be the platform.
