Harry,
This particular problem usually happens
when incorrect 'libpthread.so' is used.
Try to run 'ldd $INFORMIXDIR/bin/oninit' for diagnostics.
Try to take that library from a working configuration
and place it to /lib/libpthread.so.0
(Library location is hard-coded in IDS, do not place to another directory)
