I think you have this IDS.CPI on your CD-ROM or on your hard
disk. So, shortly:
1. Create a group: 'informix'
2. Create a user : 'informix'
3. Change the current directory to user informix home directory (as root)
4. Set the INFORMIXDIR env. variable:
INFORMIXDIR=`pwd` export INFORMIXDIR5. Run:
cpio -icvdumB < your_IDS.CPI_file_full_path
6. Set PATH env. variable:
PATH=$PATH:$INFORMIXDIR/bin export PATH7. Run the install script:
./install*
(Sorry I don't remember the exact name of this install script: it could
be installonline or installids).
Hope this helps,
Octav
