Well, you *are* a *clown* so how should I know? Actually that goes back to my point for *not* setting the Residency flag to true by default. Most DBAs *dont* build the machines that they are running IDS on. So you're better off tuning the engine without residency to help find these types of situations. Of course, IBM did offer a BCE option for DB2 clients. That is that they would configure and build machines to a spec and guarantee a certain level of performance if the client purchased everything in the BCE spec. (Ok so it was a way to tie the client to IBM's hardware platform using DB2 as the lead.) Lets face it. Customer that purchase DB2 purchase it to run on IBM hardware more times than not. IDS? Not so much. :-) But hey! What do I know? Its not like I've ever built an AIX/HP/Solaris box from the ground up, or actually had to field strip an H series HP box and remove its blown back plane... oh snap. I did. :-) _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live™: Keep your life in sync. http://windowslive.com/howitworks?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_t1_allup_howitworks_012009
