If the connections are via network using different aliases certainly. Also the default for number of connections has changed form version to version. It was originally 250 then 50, now who knows? Me I just configure explicitely for 500 connections and forget about it. It costs me 20 semaphore groups of 25 semaphores each and a few MB of class 'M' shared memory segments and I can have peace of mind. Art S. Kagel
