If you upgrade to 7.21+ you get the new backup/restore utility onbar.
Onbar has several advantages over ontape & onarchive:
1) Can to single dbspace restore or archive.
2) Can restore 'up to the minute' if logs are available (ie user says
"Ooops I deleted all my rows at 11:15 can you restore them?")
3) Uses the new POSIX archive API so that 3rd party hardware interfaces
can be used. Many backup vendors are subscribing to this interface and
providing the shared libraries needed, ex: Legato Networker. These
ofter
add multiple device handling and tape libraries so that archives do not
wait for tape changes.
