RSS can only use DBSERVERNAME?

Prior to the 11 versions, HDR could be setup on a private IP or NIC and you can assign a connections listed in DBSERVERALIASES to handle HDR traffic between your servers. Now with RSS it seems like it only works with DBSERVERNAME and will not properly establish a connection if you list an entry from the DBSERVERALIASES. Let say I have a server with three IP's or NIC's. I would want my user traffic on IP1, my HDR traffic on IP2 and then I would want to add an RSS server for IP3. All of these would be listed under DBSERVERALIASES. Keeping DBSERVERNAME open for a shared memory connection or a private connection on localhost. Using IDS 11.10.fc2 on RedHat 4, I am unable to do this unless RSS is using the DBSERVERNAME. HDR will setup fine using DBSERVERALIAS, but when I try and change from HDR secondary to RSS, the primary will always put the DBSERVERNAME as the active/defined RSS connection. I am assuming this is because all the DBSERVERALIAS are symlinks to the DBSERVERNAME under $INFORMIXDIR/etc/. This is not noted in the Admin guide that your have to use the DBSERVENAME with RSS. Is this a defect or expected? Thanks --Roy

Any chance it is 11.10? Also can you list more than one HA_ALIAS like you can for DBSERVERALIAS? If I wanted to have more than one RSS with each one on its own IP/NIC? Thanks Roy

This is what the RSS node will use to identify itself to the primary when it connects. In 11.10, the identification was strictly by the server name and in 11.50, we added the HA_ALIAS. The value of HA_ALIAS must be one of the DBSERVERALIAS names or the DBSERVERNAME.
