If Informix you execute a stored procedure which relies on tables/views etc which have change structure then Online reoptimizes then stored procedured. It then it updates and hence locks rows in sysprocplan. If you are in a transaction these locks are held. A bug fix was done in Online 5.03 because a stored procedure which accessed temporary tables would ALWAYS be reoptimized EVERY time it was executed.
