Re: Multiple "instances" of a report, all going at once?

We had a similiar problem where our reports where broken down by center id, but the reports needed to be distributed out to the centers, and to regional offices, national offices, etc. So we wrote a C program that is used to break the report into parts using a standard header and then reassemble the parts into individual reports files for each office based on a data file containing the distribution list. I know this sounds like some work, but using a standard header on all reports, we can write reports using 4GL normally, and then use this bursting program to distribute the output file. I can't give you code, but I can show you what our headers look like and what the distribution file for each report contains. Send me an e-mail if you would like to see-em. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Watje SPAMIS Data Center paulw@spamis.jcdc.eta.gov Largest Informix Shop Voice: (800) 598-5008 in San Marcos, TX FAX: (512) 396-6600 On 19 Jul 1994, Paul Roberts wrote: > OK, is there a way to do this?
