Kindred spirits, Help. Our ONLINE 5.00 UC2 on an SGI Crimson is getting pretty boring, repeating itself in the log file with: ptmap: bad extent number...--only 0 extents ptmap failure... . . . Fail Consistency Check -- ptmap error Process Aborted Abnormally... Users get a -407: This is an internal error that shows a problem in the communication between the database server and the library functions that call it.... tbcheck results of all kinds report nothing amiss; Informix tech support said this ptmap stuff is often due to a bad index, but they SEEM ok, the indices.
