Q: Clustered indexes

Altering an index to cluster is one way to rebuild a table. Clustering can also de done for performance reasons. Are there any advantages, or any overheads, in leaving a cluster index with the cluster flag set? Are there any advantages in immediately altering a clustered index to "not clustered!?
