Well, that depends..
If the server you acre conected to has a different logging mode (yes,
no, ANSI) than the logging mode of the remore server - like mfcinf in
the above example, then it will not work. Similarly, it the current
server is IDS and the remote server is SE, it will also fail.
On the other hand, if both the current and remote servers have the same
logging mode, the query runs magnificently! With no other information
than "it doesn't work" it had to guess at exactly what your situation
is. But what I have described is very common.
I had thought that by now Informix would have lifted this restriction on
cross-platform read-only queries but, alas, it appears they have not
received the obligatory circular tuitt.. ;-)
