Incredible paging on the system
First of all Thanks for the many replies, and especially to:
Roland Mueller, Neil Branam, Kevin Brand, Neil Truby and Jack Parker.
I wrote:

The system:
-HP 9000 E35 with HP-UX 9.04
-Informix OnLine 7.12 UC3
-64MB of RAM.
-Users: 40 with data-entry client/server application
No transaction logs for now(this is a test system, we are migrating from
Informix-SE 5.04 to Informix-OnLine 7.12. UC3)
EXTRAC OF online.log (when the problem occurs) with the
BUFFERS set to 2000(before it was 200)
The new onconfig file is further down this message,
with the new configuration of BUFFERS=5000, CLEANERS=6, LRUS=12)
