Brett asked about experiences running IDS 9.4 on SuSE 8 Enterprise after moving from SCO. Neil Truby said it is straightforward but to check the archives on the libcurses library. Ben Thompson said use 9.40.UC3 or better. Joerg Volz said it runs fine on SuSE 8.2 Pro, with glibc 2.3.2-5 recommended as the only gotcha.

Hi all
My company has just jumped ship from SCO 5.5 and IDS 7.3. to SuSE 8
enterprise and IDS 9.4. (Installing this week)
Has anybody had experience with Suse 8 and IDS 9.4 ?
Are there any gotchas or is it smooth sailing ?
thanks

It's pretty straightforward, but have a look at the c.d.i. archives for a
discussion on the libcurses library.

Make sure you have 9.40.UC3 or better and it should be smooth.

It's running very fine, we use SuSE 8.2 Pro. Only gotcha I know about: glibc
Version 2.3.2-5 was recommended.
