Sorry about the bandwidth, but this is something worth pursuing. I think you are right: Best for Informix to stick to what they know and do well. Nevertheless, the tools people like Powerbuilder etc. are just catching on to partitioning. Powerbuilder seems to have buffering problems; Delphi is fast but very new. It's interesting to see that Java or something like it (Kaffe?) may become a kind of Gui universal language; so possibly it will be a matter of seeing who offers the best Java toolkit and integrated development environment.
