Dbexport Block size peoblem

Hi, We are using Informix 7.11 UC2 on NCR 3555 and OS version is 2.03.01. For dbexport utility, we are having a problem for using block size as 8192, 4096, 2048, 1024, 512, 256 (i.e > 128kbytes) It displays the error message : Tape write Failed when it tries to write on the tape. It works fine if blocksize is 16, 32, 64 or 128 (i.e < 128kbytes). Using block size = 128, First tape takes around 3 hrs and Database size is 9GB. We wanted to use the larger block size to speed up the operation. We know that Tape device supports blocksize = 8192. Is there anyway to use blocksize >=2048 for dbexport/dbimport utilities?
