Complete Backup on Windows NT
Posted in 2005
Greetings all,
The various postings I have observed in this group have proven to be
very helpful (as I am a novice Informix database administrator).
In an attempt to cover my a$$...I am trying to backup an Informix
database on a Windows NT machine that is still being used... It is
running version Informix 7.22.TC1.
After initiating a backup manually with ONBAR (c:\\informix\\bin\\onbar -b
-w -L 0), I noticed the complete backup was only 740KB - that does not
seem right as the system typically downloads a few megabytes of new
information each day...
Two submissions are below, 1) the dos environment I am running ONBAR
from, and 2) "onstat -a" output.
===================================================
1) The session I am running ONBAR from looks like:
===================================================
set INFORMIXDIR=C:\\Informix
set INFORMIXSERVER=ol_nt_srv
set ONCONFIG=ONCONFIG
set PATH=C:\\Informix\\bin;%PATH%;
set INFORMIXSQLHOSTS=\\\\NT_SRVset DBTEMP=C:\\Informix\\infxtmp
set CLIENT_LOCALE=EN_US.CP1252
set DB_LOCALE=EN_US.8859-1set DBLANG=EN_US.CP1252
mode con codepage select=1252
===========================================================
2) Below is an "ONSTAT -a" (my logical logs are almost full, and my
chucks are almost filled up...woo hoo!):
