Finding what OPTIONS are set

I am using V4.00.UH2 RDS and would like to be able to access what OPTIONS are currently set. I am developing some generic database independant functions (is that against the philosophy of Informix ;-) that involve screen IO. I would like to be able to set OPTIONS such as message line etc. in the function, and reset the previous OPTIONS prior to exiting.
