compiler optimization option

Hello All, One of our programmers experienced the following, any explaination would be greatly appreciated. Environment: Sperry 5000/80, TURBO 2.10.03F, 4GL 2.10.03G The 4GL program was compiled with the -O optimization option. The program ran OK. Then the program was compiled without the optimization option, and it would not run. Other programs are reporting the exact opposite scenario Thanks for your time.
