We are having trouble with the -208 error while running the following
setup:
386/33 with 8 megs of ram
Informix SQL v2.10
Informix 4gl v1.10
MS-DOS v5.0 & 6.2
Our config.sys :
files=40
buffers=10
device=c:\\dos\\himem.sys /int15=2048
dos=high,umb
device=c:\\dos\\smartdrv.sys 1024 512
shell=c:\\command.com /e:1024 /p
Our autoexec.bat :
PROMPT $P$G
SET PATH=C:\\;C:\\BATCH;C:\\INFORMIX\\BIN;C:\\HWS\\BIN;C:\\WP51
SET HWSDIR=C:\\HWS
SET INFORMIXDIR=C:\\INFORMIX
SET DBCOLOR=BLACK/CYAN
SET DBPATH=C:\\HWS
SET DBEDIT=C:\\HWS\\BIN\\VI
SET DBTEMP=C:\\TEMP
After approximately 6-10 transactions (going in and out of screens,
using pick-lists, saving data, etc.) we begin getting -208 errors.
The book indicates it is a memory allocation error, but offers no fix.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is this a memory leak issue? If so, is
there a way to do garbage collection with memory without having to leave
the application?
Please reply to severa@delphi.com and/or this usenet topic.
Thanks.
Oh, the reason for using the older version is due to client limitations.
We will be 'porting' the application to windows 4gl soon. lWould
appreciate anyones input.
