Good day! The National Department of Transport in the Republic of South Africa is currently operating a Control Room for a distributed database system (approximately 100 Unix servers running Ingres DBMS), on which the National Traffic Information System (NaTIS) (a mission critical system) is running. If you are currently operating a system along similar lines or developing (planning) one, the Department would like to make contact with the Control Room (Help Desk) for your system, in order to exchange views on system management, as well as to arrange a possible visit later this year. The Department is currently in the process of acquiring certain management tools, and would like to discuss the approach thereto with the responsible party on your side.
