Q: DEC work w/ Informix 7.x

Question: Does Informix 7.10.UC1 work with DEC Alphaserver using DEC UNIX (formerly OSF/1) version 3.2C. 'isql' can access the database, but I get a -952 every time I try to establish a connection from WfWG 3.11 using ilogin. I've used telnet to verify the password. I've tried other userids and passwords. I'm stumped. Informix technical support recommends (but is not very sure) that the password mechanism DEC uses is messing things up. dbaccess on the DEC machine works fine except when I try to use 'Session' to change connections from the shared memory connection to the tcp/ip connection. Then, I'm prompted for user id and password and I also get the -952 error. Has anyone gotten the DEC Alphaserver to work with 7.10? Our software staff has told me that they use DEC's 'trusted computing base.' Could this be the problem? Software tends to be a bit authoritarian about passwords and security and is extremely reluctant to disable this. So, I'm asking for some ammunition to get them to disable this.
