Data Replication

Hi,
We are using the IDS 7.31 of informix on TRU64 unix.
We have a Primary db. server which replicates to secondary db. server. In
case of a failure with the primary
server. (OS level, Disk error ), is there any way to configure the
database onconfig parameter to ensure that the secondary server (without
manual intervention), sets itself as "onmode -d standard".
The ip addresses of both primary db server and secondary db server are
different. The application updates data to the IP address of the primary db
server.
Presently in case of the failure of the primary server, we manually set the
secondary server as "onmode -d standard" and also perform the netsetup to
change the IP address to that of the primary server, with changes in the
/etc/profile, infomix profile, sqlhosts, dbservername. The dbservername is
different for both.
If this can be done with the help of few shell scripts, then this may be
explained.
Thankyou.

IDS 7.31 supports DRAUTO, an onconfig parameter which can automate the
process of switching HDR secondary to either (1) standard or (2) primary
server in case of an HDR primary failure.
