Error -25571 errstr = informix : Cannot creta a us
Posted in 2013
A production IDS 11.50TC1 instance on Windows 2003 stopped with error -25571 ("Cannot create a user thread") and would not restart, even after a reboot. Suggestions included checking online.log and the Windows event log, finderr guidance (resource limits, user/group permissions, dbssodir/seccfg), sqlhosts/services entries, reverting the password, and opening a PMR. The trigger appeared to be a change of the informix user's password on the domain controller; the poster said he had also updated the Informix service password and planned to compare registry keys with a working server. No confirmed fix is recorded in the thread.

Hi, I have a production instance that has stopped with error -25571 and is no more restarting, even if I reboot the server. Following is the config : Win2k3 standard server, 4Go Ram IDS 11.50TC1 I must bring IDS up. Please help ! Best regards, Henri M.
Can you copy here last lines of online.log ? Did you check windows event viewer for details? (or similar.. I don't know if w2k3 is the same name) Any user configuration was changed on this server? I think is not your situation , anyway : http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1IC51737 Database + Windows = bad things happens... 2013/3/20 Moukouri Henri <h.moukouri@moukouri.net> > Hi, > > I have a production instance that has stopped with error -25571 and is no > more > restarting, even if I reboot the server. > > Following is the config : > > Win2k3 standard server, 4Go Ram > IDS 11.50TC1 > > I must bring IDS up. Here's what finderr has to say on the subject:
$ finderr 25571-25571 Cannot create a user thread.
The database server cannot create or spawn a user thread for a client
that is trying to establish a connection.
Probable causes of the error and corrective actions include:
* The database server cannot allocate system resources for the
user thread at the moment. The client can retry the connection
later. When other clients finish their work, some system resources
should become available again. Check to see if the user is the right
person to execute the utility or the program. For information about
who can use what utilities, refer to the Trusted Facility Manual or
your Administrator's Guide.
* A user who is not allowed to use a particular client application
to connect to the database server tried to use the utility
to connect. Client applications include SQL APIs, DB-Access,
and all the database server utilities.
* A request for a Global Language Support (GLS) structure failed.
Refer to the corrective actions for errors -23100, -23101, -23102,
-23104, -23108, and -23110 for possible solutions.
* A user attempting to connect to the database server does not
belong to the database server user group, as defined in
$INFORMIXDIR/dbssodir/seccfg on a UNIX system or in the registry
on a Windows system. Make sure that the user belongs to a user
group that can access the database server. For more information
about DBSSO users, see the Trusted Facility Manual.
Sounds like some kind of Windows resource or user identification problem.
Have you called IBM Tech support's Down System Hotline?

Hi, Thanks for your reply. User informix's passwd was changed on the Domain Controller. Hi Art,
Thanks for your reply.
I've already checked with finder and stopped ids for eventually freeing some
resources. The real problem is that I can't bring it up again.
The only change that was made is Informix passwd change.
Best regards,
Henri M.

Hi Cesar, Yes, the problem persists and it seems to have started after the password change. Henri , I think others here can help more... I don't have much experience with windows... Here somethings what I suggest to check : * sqlhosts (setnet32) * hostnames / IPs / services X sqlhosts (if all match) * $INFORMIXDIR/dbssodir/seccfg - based on this thread : http://www.iiug.org/forums/ids/index.cgi/read/22830 * informix user groups and configurations on windows... * if possible, back the informix password to old password .. just to try if get some effect... Sorry can not help more... the best way to solve.. suggest a level 1 PMR at IBM support. 2013/3/20 Moukouri Henri <h.moukouri@moukouri.net> > Hi Cesar, > > Yes, the problem persists and it seems to have started after the password > change. > > Le 21 mars 2013 à 02:18, "Cesar Inacio Martins" > <cesar.inacio.martins@gmail.com> a écrit : > > > sorry, isn't clear to me. the problem persists ??? > > If yes , they start happen just after the password changed? > > > > 2013/3/20 Moukouri Henri <h.moukouri@moukouri.net> > > > >> Hi, > >> > >> Thanks for your reply. > >> > >> User informix's passwd was changed on the Domain Controller. > >> > >> Le 21 mars 2013 à 01:38, "Cesar Inacio Martins" > >> <cesar.inacio.martins@gmail.com> a écrit : > >> > >>> Can you copy here last lines of online.log ? > >>> Did you check windows event viewer for details? If the error happened after change of password at domain controller, did you update the password for the informix service in the services console of your informix machine so it matches? (assuming it is not already an integrated services account).... Bryce.
Hi Bryce, Thanks for your reply. The password was also updated on the service console. I think I'd better check all related Informix registry keys with a working sever. Regards, Henri M.
