What versions of SE and ESQL/C are compatible with Redhat 6.0 (2.2.5-15 Kernal on i586)? From the manual, it appears that SE 7.24 UC5 (version on Intraware) is targeted for Linux Kernel 2.0.34 and glibc 2.0.7. TIA Steve Romankiw

Maybe this can help you, and I hope Jonathan Leffler will not mind me posting this to this group. One word of warning: when I installed this rpm's, I can no longer boot GNOME interface. Since I still did not find the reason for this, I cannot say if this was caused by this installation or not. Also, it did not solve my problem, but maybe it will solve yours. Andrej Falout ----------------------------- begin quoted message ------------------ On the RedHat 6.0 CD, you should find some utilities: compat-binutils-5.2-2.9.1.0.23.1 compat-glibc-5.2-2.0.7.1 compat-libs-5.2-1 compat-egcs-5.2-1.0.3a.1 If you use these, you are effectively using the RedHat 5.2 compilation environment and your problem will (well, should) go away. The trouble with _fxstat() arises because the old RedHat 5.2 (glibc 2.0.7) /usr/include/sys/stat.h maps various stat(), fstat() and lstat() function calls into these other functions which are not part of RH6.0 (more precisely, not part of glibc 2.1.1). I haven't worked out another way to deal with this. On the other hand, I don't think I ran into the problem on my RH 6.0 machine at home; I just made sure I was using the correct (latest) CSDK. I'd need to check on that to be certain; I know I installed the compat utilties on my work RH6.0 box (though I don't think I've used them); that's where I got the RPM version info from. I don't think I've installed them at home but I've not run into problems.
