Please Help! Workflow Management System E-R Diagram, Relational Database Design.
Posted in 1997
We are in the process of designing a generic web-based workflow management system prototype. We have studied numerous workflow books, white papers, and the Workflow Management Coalition's Workflow Reference Model. We have read about many high level design concepts, such as the event trigger model, SAP's EPC (event driven process chain) model, etc. However we have not found any published information on exactly how to translate the high-level model into a Entity-Relationship model, and eventually into a relational database design. If you have any experience in the database modelling for a generic workflow management system and are willing to share with us, we'd appreciate it very much. Thank you in advance.
