A poster asked how to determine the installed Informix client (CSDK) version programmatically, so another application could read it. Replies suggested running "check_version csdk" from $INFORMIXDIR/bin on Unix, or checking Help > About in setnet32 on Windows, and noted the version can also be read from the Windows registry (an InformixConnect key giving the ODBC/client version). The poster found such a key under client 2.3 but not 2.2, and no one supplied a registry key name that works across all client versions, so the thread ends without a clear resolution.

On Unix in $INFORMIXDIR/bin directory "check_version csdk"
On Windows; setnet32, click on About Setnet32
