Hi, Have a look at Informix Office Connect. You can get a try and buy from Intraware (http://www.intraware.com/informix and then follow the "development" link). It is bi-directional and it provides you with handy stuff like refresh options to update your spreadsheets from the underlying DBMS data at any time. From the blurb... "Model-based Development: Informix Office Connect's graphical user interface enables users to graphically select which columns that are to be displayed on the worksheet and the number of rows of data that should be returned from a database query all without having write a line of SQL."
