About recursive functions and cursors

Hi , all 4GL suppotrs recursive functions ! Yes , it unbelievable , but I wrote application with recursive function call. It was drill-down menus. In main menu was possible write several digits ( 1 2 1 ) where each following digit was number of option in following menu and you straight away reached the last menu. e.g Main ==== 1. printer setup 2. serial line setup 3. modem setup Printer Setup ============= 1.Parallel 2.Serial Serial Printer Setup ===================== 1.Laser 2.Pins Pins Printer ============ 1.alpha 2.betta Important that was possible to return from last menu to previous. I think the problem was CLOSE and FREE cursors each time recursive call occured.
