Problems with views?

Hi I have a problem with our system which is yielding error -243. Platform: Windows 2000 Informix 9.21 TC6R1 Single user development environment VB6 front end Scenario: Running a stored procedure which involves a view as part of a SELECT may sometimes cause the error "Could not position within a table ((Temp table for view))". If I either restart the instance or try again after a short while then it runs fine. This error seems to be normally linked to issues with locks on a table but in this instance I think it is views (and different ones at that). Any ideas anyone? I'd be glad of some assistance.
